Kirlian Ventures delivered a 240km underground fiber backbone for a major operator across the Nairobi metropolitan area. The programme included route survey, civil works coordination, duct installation, fiber blowing, splicing, and end-to-end optical power testing across 14 exchange zones.
The backbone provides the high-capacity transport layer underpinning 4G and 5G densification in the city, with diverse routing between key data centres and points of presence. The project was delivered in phased handovers over 16 months, working closely with Nairobi City County and utility agencies to manage wayleave and reinstatement.
